Founders of Colony Hotel bring Palm Beach Posh to East Hampton’s Hedges Inn

Despite having only 13 rooms, the historic Hedges Inn, which is at the entrance to the East Hampton village and in front of its idyllic pond, has made large headlines in the last year.

Scott Sartiano, the man behind the Zero Bond private club, rented the laying last summer in the hope of launching a Spinoff club. The people and residents of the village had an insurmountable resistance, who feared an atmosphere of nightlife and their noise and traffic that accompanied it. After an opposition flight, his lease was not renewed.

Sarah Warenhall (in the photo) and her husband, Andrew, are transplanting their aesthetics from Palm Beach-Chic to East End.

Now, the new owners of the bed and the break, Sarah and Andrew Warenhall, have been welcomed with open arms. It does not hurt me to have a house in East Hampton for 15 years (until 2021) and also transform the Colony Hotel into a destination in Palm Beach, where new yorkers and locals went to their restaurant in the swifty’s pool and their nights of Trivies and Bingo.

The couple brought many of these same elements to the coverage when opened last week, along with the whimsical design that has been part of the colony’s attention. “There is a style that thrives with destinations near the sea,” Sarah tells Alexa. “We want the hedges to become the best version of itself and a visual representation of East Hampton, the way the colony is a visual representation of Palm Beach. It will have the American summer aesthetics that is so beloved.”

This means shaking the tiles; Very red, white and blue; In addition to many octopus of the famous rose in the colony. The ground floor of the inn was already renovated by the previous owners and the rooms will be refreshed this year, with a larger review scheduled after the summer season.

“Andrew and I love to travel, but we also love the comforts of the home creature,” says Sarah. For this purpose, they are adding sheets, towels and Matouk tunics along with luxury comforts.

“We mean creating a fun summer and we will do it with a smile on our face and kindness in our time,” he says. As in the colony, they will offer their Instagram brand bikes with baskets and route maps, along with buggies that carry guests, chairs, umbrellas and refrigerators on the beach. “They make us visually who we are.”

The inn, first established in 1873, will now have a 24 -hour full service desk, a Valet car park, a butler service, a bar of provisions with free drinks and snacks, curating itineraries and a concrete concrete service: nicknamed Ahab, after the artist of East Hampton Jackson Pollock. In addition to the hotel rooms, there will be an autonomous residence of three bedrooms next to the property, ideal for stays extended.

“We can offer a personalized and personalized experience, and we are very excited to reimagate hospitality to East East,” says Sarah.

Customers can enjoy intimate bonfire meetings (complemented by S’Esres), as well as Wednesday evening conversations with invited teachers.

Wumenhalls are known for providing designers, beauty brands and famous fitness instructors (including Tracy Anderson and Isaac Boots) for collaborations. “We love our collaborations; they round the experience of the guests,” he says. In The Hedges, these collaborators will include Naturopathica Spa Services, Volvo Electric Ex 90 cars for village tools and a home car for local walks in a vintage pink Land Rover defender.

But the most fundamental collaboration remains with Swifty’s (originally a New York dining room before being resurrected with founder Robert Caravaggi in the colony). The restaurant has been in charge of the 100 -place interior dining space, which hosted Sartiano last summer, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, including its signature of meat and crab meat cakes, along with local farm -to -table rates.

Trivia will also reappear, but unfortunately, those nights of Bingo Uberpopular will not take the north. “New York State Games will not allow it,” Sigh Sarah.
